I want to be in a place busy with the hum of voices.
Voices confabulating, words I can’t decipher.
Not here in the quiet.
My brain is free to wander,
Free to play the broken record of thoughts.
Ruminating in a stew of self doubt and words left unsaid.
I’m out and about today, eating, wandering, knitting like a little lost soul. That’s what an impromptu day off is like. Usually I’m scheduled to the max. I’m liking it. Everyone on the street is happy. The sun is sending out it’s happy rays today. I ate at La Frasca (sorry D). I’ve been craving the calamari for months. The fish soup was delicious.
I found a great boutique. It’s been around for awhile but I’ve passed by on other missions and always meant to go in. Well I’m glad I did today. I found a little black dress. The kind you could wear everyday.
I’m having a relaxing day. Trying to finish D’s Sangria socks. I’m on the last one while being entertained by Hitchcock’s “Dial M for Murder” yet again. Next I think I will watch “Rope” by Hitchcock. Knitting with a cashmere blend is rather nice. If I have any left over I’m going to use it in a shawl I think. There are so many uses for left over sock weight yarn.
I’ve also started The Gemma Pullover by Robin Melanson. I’m knitting with Schulana a silk, wool, cashmere blend that is as light as a feather. It’s a silk tube stuffed with cashmere. It’s cool, and the silk gives the garment a kind of sheen. Like it is sun-kissed.
