The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry by Gabrielle Zevin
I finished this book a few days ago. It’s the story of a bookseller living on an island and how he travels through grief and life to find happiness. I found it moving and very funny at times. The main characters A.J. and Amelia both have equal airtime in the beginning but for some reason Amelia gets dropped for A.J.’s story leaving me wondering what happened to her even after she rejoins the story. I wanted to know more about her, she was such a developed character in the beginning. The other threads of the story bring a lot of interest and keeps you reading so not all is lost. I enjoyed this book overall.
Here is a quote I loved: “We aren’t the things we collect, acquire, read. We are, for as long as we are here, only love. The things we loved. The people we loved.”

Here I go…I decided to start with the rose pink at the top and white at the bottom.
This hand spun yarn from Heartfelt Creations is really nice to work with. It’s self striping but each colour morphs into the next. My two projects I have on the go right now are both one skein projects.
Rebecca’s Restaurant
This restaurant is really a sweet spot. 50’s-60’s music playing, a nice menu with gluten free and vegan choices. Covered patio overlooking The Bay. I had pickled beet salad and quinoa sweet potato cakes with root vegetable ketchup. Peppermint tea in a china cup and saucer. I fit right in. Key-lime lemon meringue pie for dessert. I think I’m in heaven.
Have A Yarn
I’m in Mahone Bay for supper. So I stopped into Have A Yarn. I couldn’t decide which yarn colorway to choose for this fun Cranberry Swirl capelet. Pinks with Lace or Campfire morph so I bought both.
The yarn comes from New Glasgow. I love local hand spun yarn, so much character. Heartfelt Creations.
