Summer Storm knitting

I’m attempting to knit my Juliette shawl by lamplight. Wish me luck.

I’ve been trying to entertain myself but reading by lamplight put me to sleep. Even though my latest read is very engaging. Come, Thou Tortoise by Jessica Grant. This is a good lesson for me. I’m sitting in silence with just me and my thoughts when I would usually be watching Netflix and knitting.

Planting Seeds and Bridal Bliss

Yesterday I was lucky enough to attend a bridal shower for a lovely girl on a beautiful day. You know I love silver tea pots and china cups. It was a fun event with laughter and even knitting. The lovely girl manager of the yarn shop where I frequently knit. Take a look at the crazy Fascinator I made, of course instead of on my head I wore it on my wrist.

I planted my seeds, as usual during Apple Blossom time. Weeds!!

Apocalypse for Beginners by Nicolas Dickner

I liked this book. It was a cute story, a quick read. It’s Canadian, set in Rivière-du-Loup. I identified with Hope the main character. Specifically her love of David Suzuki. The story is about two young peoples journeys through the 1990’s and Hope’s families obsession with the end of time. This book shows mental illness through a young girls eyes, it’s honest and funny.

I’ve read Nikolski by Nicolas Dickner a few years ago when it won Canada Reads and enjoyed it.
