This WordPress.com site is about life in knitting, music, books, food, and poetry
I finished this book yesterday. It is one of the CBC Canada Reads books for this year, the showdown is in March. I’m going to read all of the contenders. This was the first and it will be hard to beat. It’s a book all Canadians should read. It’s a difficult story to read at times but beautifully written and it’s message is a truth we all should understand.
Our part of the world has seen some ice storms in the past week. Dangerous but beautiful. My husband and I travelled around this morning taking some shots before it all melts away.
I was the queen of Cowls this Christmas. I have two more to gift away. One is a goodbye gift and the other is a Cheering up gift. I’ve begun to knit a pair of socks. 2014 maybe the year of the sock knitting, we’ll see how this pair turns out.
The cowls were knit with Fleece Artist’s Big Blue, 100% Blue Face Leicester wool. The socks are being knit with Kroy sock Yarn. I love the stripes.
I love the sounds a winter storm makes. The ice hitting the window panes, the wind blowing, the fire crackling in the fireplace, and my kettle boiling for tea.
My favourite song today… Red Heart by Hey Rosetta
