One of the old roads in this county. Runs near our land.
What I consider to be treasures, is questionable. To my amateur Archeaologists eye I see a story, others may just see garbage. Walking through our land I found these throw away things that were tossed to the Kitchen Midi ages ago, when this land was ploughed and nurtured. People lived here. Now I find their broken pieces and can only imagine their daily lives.
A few discoveries today and a lot of questions still to be answered. The longer I delve into the bits and pieces the more I want to know. I found part of an etched inscription today. I’m feeling more and more like a code breaker. I used to love criptoquotes as a kid. I guess those interests that you develop as a kid, turn into your passions when you are an adult.
It’s that time of year again. My volunteer vacation at Louisbourg with Parks Canada Archeaology. Today I was working in Collections, which happens to be one of my fav places. Just think 1000’s of artifacts at your fingertips. My project was wading through a mountain of glass trying to find pieces that were unique. It’s like playing with a jigsaw puzzle. Lots of fun for me.
Lots of learning today onsite. Made some new discoveries on the genealogy front. They still have lots of digging to do to find the anomalies present on the geophysical study, I plan on joining the crew in June for the next stage. I’m excited already. We all need something to look forward to. This is my motivation for keeping a healthy mind, body, and spirit.
